Perth Arena - Acoustic Cladding

Working together with Ortech industries, Balpara has provided detail drawings for the acoustic insulation which wraps around the inside of the new Perth Arena.

Ortech's innovative system consists of recycled compressed wheat panels and aluminium acoustic cassettes, supported from Ortech's own proprietary mild steel purlin and bridging support system. Balpara's role has been to interpret the Ortech System and integrate it so it could be bolted to the complicated main steel structural skeleton of the arena. Balpara had to do this in a way that also provided Ortech with effective, millimetre-accurate documentation for product manufacture and on-site erection.

Due to the complex geometry of the structure, Balpara has worked closely with Ortech, to ensure the acoustic system was applied in a seamless layer to the structure. The acoustic barrier had to not only meet the client's strict high standards, but Balpara has also worked closely with the project architect, as the Ortech System is a visible face of most of the interior of the arena.
